Well the certified Acura mechanic I got was afraid to heat up the speedo ring with a torch in order to press it on.

That was a hassle I could have done without. "Ah, Mr. Holden? You're LSD is the wrong size. I'm sure of it.". Five hours later the verdict was in: Correct LSD, less than stellar mechanic.

As for people who have had LSD's installed for cheap, you're lucky to know who you know. The only option like that I had was to remove the tranny myself (something I've never done). Drive it 1.5 hours to a tranny shop that would do the install for $185. Drive back to pick it up. Then reinstall it myself (again, something I've never done).

I looked into having a Honda tech I know do it, but after seeing his garage, I had zero confidence in his ability to handle the unexpected.

    Nick,

OT - You contacted me a few days ago about some dyno time... my answering machine at the old shop has crapped out, and I cannot retrieve your number. Please call me at the NEW shop number to schedule dyno time... I am shooting for 3/3/02.

It's not what you know, it's WHO you know. We here in Houston who know Randy are lucky to have someone who you can have complete confidence in from head reworks to tranny work, even cams jumping time. smile
